Colin Stewart died in Aurora, Colorado, on March 6, 2015, at the age of 88. Born in Philadelphia, he grew up skiing in Hanover, New Hampshire. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and after the war was stationed at the Garmisch Armed Forces Recreation Center in southern Germany, where he ran skiing and tennis programs. Back in the U.S., he raced for Dartmouth College and finished 20th in slalom at the 1948 St. Moritz Olympics. In 1955 he earned a graduate degree in architecture at Harvard.

In 1957, Stewart married Ann Edwards. The couple moved to Colorado in 1959, where they raised their children. Colin practiced architecture, designing homes and public buildings throughout the state. 

He is survived by his wife and siblings, Robert (Jake) Stewart, Mary Newman, and Janet Bill; four daughters, Catharine Johnson, Jessie Flanagan, Elizabeth Bauer and Rebecca Brandes; and eight grandchildren. —S.M.
